ART = LIFE: OR A LIFE LIVED TO ART
1994 – 1998 – Dores & Rose Sacquegna, begin to work professionally in the field of event management in Rome, collaborating with Studio Il Ponte. There are various events organized in Italy and abroad including the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, exhibitions and art fairs in Paris, London and Rome. In these years they founded the Specialization School for Art Graphics Il Ponte, where they set up workshops and seminars of Engraving Techniques with Italian students and from various embassies.
1998 – 2003 – The collaboration with Il Ponte ends and the two curators founded the Cultural Association Creative Art Service Oltre Il Segno in Rome, with an adjoining Atelier for Art Graphics. In recent years, meetings with international artists have matured, organizing events at the Spoleto Festival, at the Carlo V Castle in Lecce, at the Polmone Pulsante Museum in Rome by Saverio Ungari, at the Centro di Cultura Cinematografica in Rome, the Fair at the Palazzo del Festival in Cannes and many more.
2004 – 2014 – On April 17, 2004, Dores & Rose Sacquegna, flanked by a family management team, decided to return to Lecce and found the Primo Piano LivinGallery, the largest contemporary art gallery that has existed in Lecce until then. With over 300sqm of surface on the main floor and over 700sqm of solarium, Primo Piano opens its doors inside the nineteenth-century Palazzo Rubichi in the heart of the old city of Lecce. In this context, internationally renowned artists but also young talents were hosted, promoting a dialogue between the visual arts and other disciplines, such as seminars, performances, workshops, video art and cinema reviews, festivals. Among the exhibited artists: Vito Acconci, Living Theater, Hermann Nitsch, Giovanni Albanese, Edoardo Winspeare, Ervin Olaf, Ugo Nespolo, Peter Greenway, Eugenio Recuenco, Matthew Barney, AES + F Group, Grimanesa Amoros, Pam Longobardi, Marthe Keller and others .
Primo Piano LivinGallery’s reputation for organizing and curating events is known and appreciated also abroad, thanks to prestigious collaborations with Italian and foreign public intitutions. See list here
2014 – On April 17, 2014, the company activity is supported by the associative activity of Primo Piano Special Project “Projects and Services for Contemporary Art”, creating events for cultural purposes in Italy and abroad and continuing to collaborate with others international institutions such as: Allotropia Cultural Heritage Museum, Antikyra (Greece); Sphinx Thebes Festival, Thebes (Greece); Italian Art Fair Dubai (UAE); Vernazza-Castromediano Palace, Lecce (Italy); Palazzo Granafei-Nervegna, Brindisi (Italy), Ex Conservatory of Sant’Anna, Lecce (Italy); Palmieri Foundation, Lecce and many others. Among the artists and directors with whom they have collaborated in recent times: AES + F Group, Grimanesa Amoros, Theo Angeloupolos, Statis Athanasiou, Dimitris Kollatos, Nikos Kornillos, Pam Longobardi, Ulrike Arnold, Richard Ashrowan, Gilles Bruni, Andrea Juan, Studio Smack , Tarshito, Marcel.li Antunez Roca, Silvia De Gennaro, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Jason deCaires Taylor, Louise Bourgeois, Sama Alshaibi, Pey-Chwen Lin, LeoNilde Carabba and many others.
