FIDES LINIEN was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz, Germany) in 1984. From 2003-2008 she graduated her studies of Fine Arts at Dresden, Hochschule für Bildende Künste. During her studies she started developing a special and unique technique to work with handmade paper. Since 2007 she works with this technique, she calls it ‘CartaStaminea’. These more or less transparent artworks are detailed paper works made of handmade paper with inlaid cotton or silk yarn. She participates at art exhibitions since 2002. She is a full member of IAPMA (International Assiciation of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists) since 2016.
